The American Music Cycle
The American Music Cycle is a seven-play theatrical series that reclaims the Black origins of America’s most celebrated musical genres through mythic, musical storytelling. Each play is a ritual—a genre-bending revival that fuses history, Afrofuturism, cultural memory, and sonic legacy into a theatrical experience that is both ancestral and urgent.
Spanning Rock, Gospel, Country, Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, and House, the Cycle centers Black voices not just as contributors to American music, but as its architects, its disruptors, and its soul. These are not just jukebox musical revues. They are remix rituals, storytelling ceremonies that expose erased lineages, honor unsung innovators, and invite audiences to feel, remember, and rise.
